"Ama in Heaven..."

Your "Ama in Heaven",
Jenny Tan Hong Weng,
27/07/69-25/01/07
A Proverbs 31 woman

Jenna, Jerrick.
i must tell you about your wonderful
"Ama in Heaven"

Your 'Ama in heaven"
was a wonderful, wonderful, woman.
I missed her sooooooooo much.
I'm crying as i type this.
(pause...)

Your "Ama in Heaven"
grew up being the oldest in her family.
Her real dad was killed in the Japanese war.
Her step father was kind
and all her siblings and half siblings loved her dearly
simply because she was one of the most
loving, generous, kind and pure-hearted woman that i've ever met in my life!!!

Although she was deprived of education,
She was a fast learner, very street wise
and she could read, write in English Malay and Chinese.
She is pretty artistic- a hair-dresser by profession.
She could tailor clothes, dance, loved singing and could play the organ and harmonica!

All her little achievements were good but your "Ama in heaven"
placed her priorities on what matters most in life...relationships.
She was the one who encourages us, her 3 kids to go to church.
She was the one who would read the Bible almost every night after a hard day's work
She was the one who showed me what it means to love God and to love people.
Although she had very little left to offer at her last days,
She was constantly surrounded by loved ones.
A testimony of her impact as a person.

Though her cancer spreaded fiercely,
Ama was at peace.
She kept asking God to take her.
She was eager to meet Jesus in heaven.
Through all the pain she went through,
Ama embraced it courageously, with gratitude and gratefulness to God.
I love your ama so very much.
i do miss her alot
I miss her terribly but i know that
she's in a better place.
With that, i know also that one day,
i'll see your 'ama in heaven'
yet again...

Your Dad...

Isa 32:8
"But the noble man makes noble plans and by noble deeds he stands.
"

Your Dad...

What can i say? Words cannot express enough of how much your dad means to me. I love and respect him deeply. We knew each other for years but it was in Johor Bahru, Malaysia that we really got to build a great friendship together as we were co-workers then (1999). Your dad is an honest, hard-working, kind and loving man. He is someone full of integrity and very, very responsible as a person. He taught me many things. What it means to persevere, what it means to fear God. The list is endless. Remember kids, you are soooooooooo blessed to have a dad like him. Never take it for granted. I am so blessed to have a husband like your dad and when we cycle to school almost every morning as a family, i constantly say a big, mega thank you to our dear Lord, for blessing us with a wonderful family.

Grateful,
Mom...

God's Gracious Gift

Psalms 139:13-14
"For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because i am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, i know that full well.
"

Hey kids,

Dad brought us fishing yesterday at our favourite place at Pasir Ris. Jerrick, you stepped into the 'longkang' and got yourself pretty wet and messy. Yep, you cried and all, mostly due to the shock. Dad was there to rescue you immediately. Jen, you went around composing songs and singing to the fishes. Both of you are a bundle of joy and delight. I took a step back, looked at both of you and told dad, "Dear, look! These are our very own two kids!!!" Dad wasn't sure where i was coming from but i knew what was in my heart. I was overwhelmed with thankfulness and gratefulness that God has blessed dad and me with both of you!!! i feel sooooo honoured to be given the priviledged to give birth to both of you and to be called your mom!

For Jenna and Jerrick

Dearest Jenna and Jerrick,

This is mom. It's year 2008 and i'm turning 36 this year. You two are still young now but one day, God willing, as you read this blog, you'll constantly be reminded of how dear both of you are to God, your dad and me.

From my heart,
Mom
